Another Beacon Award was awarded to the site team at Stanmore for consistent safety. The award was presented by Tony McNulty, Labour MP for Harrow East. |
“Joywheel carried out direct labour work on a total of 7 station closures in the space of three months. In over 5000 man hours of work, mostly at nights in weekend closures, there was not a single reportable accident or incident. Works carried out ranged from the resurfacing of a station platform in less than 48 hrs, a feat never achieved before by TLL, to carrying out refurbishment works of existing rooms and structures.
Joywheel are able to source and supply materials to TLL/LUL spec, ranging from hard civils materials such as ballast, tarmac, and building blocks, to paint and mastic. Material was always delivered on time and to the correct specifcation.
They have a pool of full-time employed, well managed multi skilled staff, capable of carrying out contract lump sum works, or work directly under client supervision as directed. A culture of pride for workmanship exists, which leads to works being completed to the expected quality, on time, and to budget. Such pride in their work extends to the safety of themselves and the people around them. Their depth of experience working within the underground environment helps avoid and reduce the potential scope of problems, with an active can do attitude to work with the main contractor to solve problems.”
