Hounslow West to Hounslow Central - Piccadilly Line

This contract involved stabilising 800m of subsiding cutting on both sides of the track.

	A challenge was presented by the installation of temporary works, which was overcome with use of platypus anchors.
	Rather than carry out all work from the top of the embankment, we suggested using a ramp down to the bottom of the cutting as shown.
	Our novel approach to inserting scaffold poles through hard ground: adaptation of an excavator breaker.

	Tube Lines' Beacon Site Award was presented to the site team in recognition of an impeccable safety record.
